information Tekuteku KARASUMA→Fushimi inari→Gion shijyou One day sightseeing course!

Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine has been ranked “No. 1 tourist site in Japan that foreigners want to visit” for five consecutive years. Tekuteku Kyoto has been chosen by people who want to rent kimono and go to the shrine.

From Tekuteku Kyoto Karasuma branch, you can arrive at Inari Station by taking two railways. First, please take the city subway and get off at Kyoto Station. Then, please transfer to the JR Nara Line and get off at Inari Station.

Look at the picture below! The accessibility to the shrine is good, as it is right in front of you as soon as you go out from the Inari Station. It takes about 20 minutes to get there, including transfer time!

There are still only a few people who go sightseeing in kimono around that site. You will gather attention in a retro kimono from Tekuteku Kyoto!

We will introduce the ‘Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine to Gion 1Day Sightseeing Course.’ This course includes two popular sightseeing areas with convenient transportation: Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, the popular ‘Vermillion Cafe’ with its green terrace, and by taking the Keihan train, you can get ‘Gionshijo Station.’

Fushimi Inari Taisha
It is called ‘Inari-san’ by the local. This shrine has gathered millions of players from all over Japan for a guardian deity of an enriched harvest, family safety and prosperous business.
It’s so famous with its countless Torii gates ‘Senbon Torii.’ The Torii gates on the mountain path creates a sacred atmosphere when light shines through it. It is a mysterious space that creates the illusion as if you are drawn in.

This photogenic scenery is favored by foreigners and attracts tourists from all over the world! Keep your distance from the people around you and don’t miss a good opportunity for a photograph!
Walking along the path of the Torii gate, you will come to the Okusha Shrine. You can expect a fortune-telling experience. ‘Omokaruishi’ is a fortune-telling method in which you make a wish, lift up a round stone, and if it feels light, your wish will come true. Please give it a try!
By the way, you can eat ‘Oinari-san’ in an approach to the shrine. You can take away ‘Oinari-san’ from one piece. The fried bean curd and vinegared rice are soaked in flavor and they taste delicious! The picture of ‘eating Oinari-san at Oinari-san’ should be interesting!?

Vermillion Cafe
You come to ‘Vermillion Cafe’ where green and gentle breeze comfort you. It takes 2 minutes on foot from Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. We would recommend this place because it gives you a break in a surrounding nature.
For your information, the shop in front of Inari Station Avenue is ‘Vermillion espresso bar & info.’ It’s other branch of them. Please make sure that this store is different from the one we introduced.
Vermillion has the meaning of the color mixed red and orange in English. I see…the vermillion icon is fashionable.
They have lots of selection in their menu of drink, sweets and lunch food, so you can take a break as you want. They decorate their interior with antique furniture in shop. It gives you comfortable atmosphere.
Following the sunshine through green, you will find some seats at their terrace. Teatime in the shade of the trees with a gentle breeze. You will feel at home even though it is your first time here. You will feel at peace in the silence that makes you forget the crowds of people at the Senbon-Torii.
While I was curious about the hand-drip coffee and espresso, I ordered ‘Uji Green Tea ganache’ and ‘Iced Tea.’
Chocolate shaped Torii gate with whipped cream is pretty. It has a strong presence even though it is small. Taking pictures in store is allowed, so you can enjoy photo time at this terrace, too!

Next, go to Gion!
Please go to ‘Fushimi Inari Station’ on Keihan Railway. It is around a 3 minutes walk from Inari-Sam. It’s so close, isn’t it? Please take the the train bound for Demachiyanagi and you will arrive at Gion-Shijo Station in 9 minutes! You will go out to gorgeous areas such as Yasaka Shrine, Hanamikoji Street and Gion Shirakawa River. By using the train, which is not interfered by traffic condition, you can easily move around even in distant areas. Please enjoy Fushimi Inari and Gion at the same time!
